Let's talk Fish & Chips

Updated: Jul 30, 2019

Two days into our stay, two fish & chips to review!

First up, Sole Bay Inn.

Lovely Pub, great service and very good Fish & Chips.

Choice of Haddock or Cod, I chose Haddock. Fish was well cooked, not over done. Good batter, not greasy.

It can get quite busy at popular times, lunch and dinner. Service prompt and friendly with a pretty good menu if your'e not fancying fish. Good selection of beers and ciders, all the usual suspects for Adnams fans with always one that isn't in other pubs. Recommend a visit.

Overall Score 8 out of 10

Take away Time!

The Little Fish & Chip Shop - East Street - Southwold

What a treat!

Tucked away of the Market Place, this tiny shop has really exceeded it's small stature.

It has a sit in option at the front of the shop and a well organised take away at the back. With an in and out flow through separate doors, Busy busy staff taking orders, others on prep, cooking and the fabulous Julie on the passe organising the orders and dealing with customers in her own inimitable way. The queue moves quickly through the shop where you then wait for your order to be called. No losing the will to live in a queue that feels like your feet have been glued to the floor!

To help pass the time a selection of beers and wine soon speeds your order along.

The order traveled well and was still nice and hot and the batter crispy once it was unpacked. Fish was well cooked and a good size fillet. Chips were on point as well together with mushy peas and some of their own tartare sauce, fabulous!

Highly recommended
